As a wood-pole manufacturer, induo® subjects carefully selected wood poles to a rigorous pressure process.

Maximum protective barrier through the Rüping process: Using a special plant and vacuum-pressure technique in the proven Rüping process (pressure impregnation), we achieve a controlled minimum application quantity of 95 to 140 kg of preservative per cubic metre (m³). Our creosote poles thereby fully penetrate the sapwood zone. They form an impenetrable barrier against extreme weather phenomena - the ideal foundation for global telecommunications and energy supply.

Process

Rüping process - maximum saturation, zero dripping

As a direct supplier, you benefit from maximum efficiency when buying from us: you bypass unnecessary intermediaries and receive goods with precisely calculated technical parameters directly ex works. For every wholesaler and contractor, the Rüping process guarantees a flawless surface with no bleeding - for smooth handling from loading through to final installation.

  1. Initial pressure

    In contrast to traditional methods, the advanced Rüping process begins with the build-up of an initial pressure of 100-700 kPa.

  2. Injection of hot oil

    Then hot creosote oil (heated to 105°C - 140°C) is pressed directly into the cell structure of the entire sapwood area.

  3. Retention standard

    We guarantee a minimum retention of the agent of 95 to 140 kg per cubic metre of wood.

  4. Logistical cleanliness

    The process ends with a final vacuum phase. The expanding air pushes out excess impregnation agent and completely prevents the poles from “dripping” during storage and weeks-long sea transport.

Are creosote-impregnated wood poles corrosion-resistant?

Yes. As wood does not corrode, creosote-impregnated wood poles are particularly suitable for locations with salty air, coastal proximity or aggressive climatic conditions.

Do creosote-impregnated wood poles conduct electricity?

Creosote-impregnated wood poles have a very high electrical resistance and poor conductivity. Wood is by nature a good insulator, and the creosote impregnation does not significantly change this property either. Wood poles therefore offer a technical advantage over conductive materials such as steel, particularly in the field of power and telecommunications lines.

How long is the actual service life of a creosote pole in difficult soil?

Creosote-impregnated wood poles are designed for particularly demanding soil and climate conditions. Their actual service life depends on factors such as soil moisture, salt load, biological activity, wood species, impregnation quality and regular inspection.

In practice, professionally impregnated wood poles frequently achieve service lives of 40 to 60 years even in difficult soil conditions. Under favourable operating conditions and with appropriate maintenance, considerably longer service lives are also possible.

Which wood species are creosote-impregnated at induo®?

For our induo® creosote-impregnated poles, we use exclusively high-quality Nordic pine (Pinus sylvestris). Thanks to its natural structure, this wood species is particularly well suited to the production of durable wood poles.

A decisive advantage of Nordic pine is its pronounced sapwood zone. It enables a deep, uniform and durable uptake of the wood preservative. As a result, the creosote impregnation can penetrate effectively into the protection-relevant areas of the wood and ensure long-term protection against moisture, fungi, insects and biological decomposition.

In comparison, spruce wood - especially after drying - can only be impregnated to a very limited extent and exclusively at the surface. For this reason, spruce poles are not approved in almost all international specifications for power and telecommunications lines.

The use of Nordic pine is therefore a central quality factor for us: it combines high mechanical strength, very good impregnability and lasting durability - ideal conditions for reliable wood poles in the international energy and telecommunications sector.
