The bandage consists of a self-adhesive, resistant sealing layer (based on bitumen modified with a synthetic compound) combined with a special adhesive zinc foil on the inside.
The bandage prevents long term penetration of large amounts of moisture to the mast at ground level and the migration of protective solutions to the environment. The self-vulcanising and crack-bridging sealant system protects the pole from potentially hazardous environmental conditions. At the same time, the oxidising zinc foil acts against wood-destroying micro-organisms; it also aids the insulation of the pole from the increased risk of infection from the soil.
The bandage can be used both for new pole installations and as a retro-fit protection bandage for existing poles.

Also everywhere where standard galvanising, hot-dip galvanising and/or paint treatment usually only give temporary protection against corrosion, LoPro
Our long-term product experience shows that maintenance can be minimised or avoided, and life cycles considerably extended.
The bandage can be used both for new work and for retro-fitting to existing structures, lighting masts, electricity pylons, tram masts, solid-wall steel masts, profiles, underground pipes and pipelines or building components.

Active corrosion protection is achieved by the electrolytic reaction of the sacrificial anode. The high degree of purity of the zinc layer (>99.95 %) and the electrical conductivity of the adhesion layer forms a positive electrical connection between the metal substrate and the zinc, so that it can act as a sacrificial galvanic anode.
Passive protection is provided by the top coat bonded to the zinc foil. This external and highly resilient membrane, composed of a polymer-modified bitumen with a HDPE bearing layer, protects against mechanical damage and moisture penetration.
Chemical protection and permanent resistance to aggressive substances naturally occurring in the soils are provided by the membrane.
